Aitken n'a pas encore mis son site à jour, alors les prix sont de l'année dernière. Il faudra certainement rectifier (à la baisse, pour une fois...).

Profitez du fait que le catalogue Aiken actuellement en ligne est encore la version 2009 pour pré-sélectionner vos iris parce, même s'ils ont décidé d'enlever plein d'iris pour le catalogue 2010, il ne vont pas les arracher tous cette année, donc certains seront toujours en stock même s'ils n'apparaissent plus sur le nouveau catalogue.

J'imagine que ce sont les plus anciens (et les moins chers) qui risquent de disparaître pour cause de rentabilité.

Si vous attendez la version 2010, il sera trop tard pour les trouver.

Barbara est d'accord pour qu'on leur soumette une liste d'iris hors catalogue en plus de la commande et elle nous dira ce qu'il est encore possible d'avoir.

J'ai hâte de découvrir le nouveau catalogue mais pour le moment rien ne filtre.

Pour vous faire patienter, voici un bricolage que j'ai fait avec de mauvaises photos et des dessins.

Merci Loïc, je pense que le catalogue va bientôt arrivé, on arrive au mois de Mars et c'est bien souvent à cette période que Aitken nous le fait parvenir.

CLAIRVOYANT (M. Smith '10) SDB 11" E M 3 buds. Superbly ruffled pastel yellow self. Upright standards of primrose (RHS 6D), styles one shade darker (6C) Fall centers are greenish yellow, primrose yellow rims (6B) with pale veining. Prominent hot red-orange beards. (34 B) Heavily ruffled, slight fragrance, some fertility.
01-07 A: (Photon X Yearling)

BEAT GOES ON (Aitken '10) M, L, VL, VVL RE. White flowers with a pale aquamarine blue spot on the falls. The spot is pronounced in cool weather but may fade out with heat. Flower form excellent with domed standards and round blocky flared falls and nice ruffles. Tangerine beards. Three buds. It represents a major breakthrough on "timing" of rebloom. In two year clumps, it starts blooming at midseason for SDB's and continues for 2 months.
Both Lumalite and Joe Cool generate rebloom. Combine that with the excellent form of Marky Smith's Shallow and you come up with a real winner.

CRAISIN: (M. Smith '10) SDB 12" EM 3 buds. A sweet hors d'oeuvre of cranberries over cream cheese. Cranberry standards, (RHS 71 A) grayed toward base; gold styles with cranberry rib and crest. Falls have wide, saturated cranberry rims and small, cream centers below the bright tangerine (34 A) beards. Heavy plum-black veins radiate from hot beard vertically down the fall, including double center stripe. Toast-lined shoulders. Ruffled, pronounced spicy fragrance.

BORDER BABY (Aitken '10) Sibling to Copper Fusion (TB) Even though it's siblings are TB's, this plant has all the proper proportions for a border bearded iris. Small flowers, stems, foliage, adequate buds and good increase. Flower color is blue lavender blending white on the interior. The soft colors are set off by a bright red beard.

DEVIL'S WALTZ (L. Markham '10) Gunmetal--?? Sdlg. #LM 02-12A2.

JAGUAR: (M. Smith '10) BB 26"EM 7-8 buds A flamboyant jungle cat. Standards with a thin, pure yellow rim (RHS 7) blending to mustard and a smoked mauve midrib. Style arms have pure yellow ribs and crests. Upper fall is strong clear yellow (7) surrounding hot yellow-orange beard (17) Center petal spotted dark red-brown, and distal fall heavily washed dark red-brown (183) with scattered gold spots. Undersides of petals are drab gold. Heavy, looping ruffles, pronounced spicy fragrance.

BLUSH OF PINK (Aitken '10) M., L., 42" (--cm) 3 branches plus spurs for 10 or 12 buds. Very pale blue falls that blend to white around the beard. A color combination unique to the iris world! Red-purple standards, deep orange/red falls with a slightly darker rim pattern similar to the standards. PURDUE PETE (L. Miller '10) M, 36" -38" Std's are semi domed of bright yellow. Butter yellow styles have midribs and tips of light purple. Falls are black-red with a few white lines at the base of golden-orange beards, Slight musk scent. Sdlg. #1305C. Parentage unknown. $50.00


STARDUSTED (L. Markham '10)

SUMMER SUNBURST (Aitken '10) E, M, RE (Early August in NW) 34" (-cm) Vigorous plants. Intense yellow self. 3 branches, 8 buds. Sdlg. #00T5A :( Pure as Gold x Tennessee Vol.). $50.00


WISE WOMAN: TB (small) 31", 5" flower E. 7-10 buds. I had hoped for a Border introduction but this lady was too smart for me. She has real brilliance for her size. Upright, heavily ruffled standards with bright brass edges (RHS 162) that blend to red mauve (grayer than 185 C,) thin gray midrib. Style arms drabbed gold with mauve feathers on crests. Falls have a thin brass-gold rim, and are heavily washed burgundy black, solid at the distal end. Faint gold to red stripes descend the petals vertically, with a white spear under the hot yellow-orange beard. Floriferous, with excellent proportion. Quad terminal sockets and other triples. Pronounced sweet fragrance, ruffled and pleated. Fertile both.
