
Iris 'Gladys Clarke' (Ransom)
The French Iris and Bulbous Plants Society (S.F.I.B.) was created 1959 by Mrs. Gladys Clarke. It is managed by volunteers and abides by the French Law of 1901. It is a member of the French National Horticulture Society.
To offer the opportunity for discovery and enjoyment of iris, other irides and bulbous plants of botanical and horticultural interest.
To contribute to the safeguard of endangered species.
To further in France and in all French-speaking countries, the knowledge of iris and bulbous plants.
To take part in the preservation of history by playing a role in establishing a national iris collection and by encouraging the propagation of rare varieties.
To give France a major role to play in the world of Iris and organize an international iris competition in 2005.
To make the general public and the younger generation sensitive to the protection of the environment and of horitcultural history.
To give plant fans an opportunity to meet and to get to know new people in a friendly and informal atmosphere.
